Depression care can be a postcode lottery

Overcoming depression and anxiety is a postcode lottery, with a huge variation in recovery rates from one region to another, according to the NHS's own figures. About three in five patients fail to return to full health after completing a course of psychological treatment. While counselling is successful for 42% of people across Britain, different primary care trusts have big differences in the numbers who recover after care, ranging from as few as to 5% up to two thirds, depending on where the patient lives
